Muyiwa Ademola (born 26 January 1971) is an award-winning Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer, and director. He is best known for Orí (2004), Orí Rebirth (2025), and Gbàràdá (2023).

Ademola has written, produced, and starred in many hit movies, including Omo Elemosho, Kesari, and Jagun Jagun (2023). He received an AMAA nomination for Most Outstanding Indigenous Actor in 2008.

Early Life

Muyiwa Ademola was born on 26 January 1971 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, to Isaiah and Rebecca Ademola.

Education

Ademola attended St. David’s High School at Molete, Ibadan. He enrolled at the University of Ibadan to study for a Diploma in Adult Education and Community Development and began his degree in 2006.

Career

After secondary school, Ademola began giving stories to different people in the film industry. He met Charles Olumo and joined the Nigerian film industry through him. Later, he met with film director S.I. Ola, who further coached him.

In 1995, he produced his first movie, Asise, and shot his first film, Etutu Emi, in 1997. He has also done other films, like Aderonke, Akinkanju, Iyonu Olorun, and Ogo Osupa.

He has appeared in many other Yoruba films, including Iwo, Orí Rebirth, Gbàràdá, Omoniyun, Astray, Asife, Ogun Aiku, Ise imole, Tibi tire laye, Nkan adun, Igi owo, Kilebi olorun, Kootu olohun, Apesin, Kajola, Indomie Lomo, and Orí.

Ademola has also written several films, including Orí Rebirth, Gbàràdá, and Igi owo. He is the CEO of production company Muy Authentic Presentations. He has also launched a YouTube channel, Muy Authentic TV.

Ademola won Best Indigenous Film for Orí at the 2005 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). In 2007, he was also nominated for Best Director, Best Film in an African Language, and Best Nigerian Film.

In 2008, Ademola was nominated for “Most Outstanding Indigenous Actor” at the 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
