Adedimeji Adetola Lateef (born 1 February 1984) is a Nigerian actor and filmmaker. He rose to fame for his role in the 2013 film Kudi Klepto.

The Nollywood actor and filmmaker has also starred in many Nigerian films, including Ilu Ominira (2017), Date Night (2017), Flakky Ijaya (2017), and Jagun Jagun (2023).

Early Life

Lateef Adedimeji was born on 1 February 1984 in Oshodi, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is the fourth child in a family of six. He moved from Oshodi to Isolo, where he grew up, when he was about to get to primary three.

Education

Adedimeji started at the Central Primary School, Oshodi and completed at Ire-Akari Primary School, Ishaga-Isolo. He attended Ilamoye Grammar School in Okota. While in school, he joined the Community Life project, a non-governmental organisation that reaches the grassroots through songs and drama.

He studied Mass Communication at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State. He received an honorary doctorate degree in Art and Culture from Estam University, Benin.

Career

Adedimeji began developing his skills after joining an NGO while in Secondary school. At university, he established his theatre troupe, ‘The African Change.’

He performed different stage plays and would leave school to go for auditions. After graduating from the university, he produced his first movie and has featured in various stage roles since he was 15.

Adedimeji began acting professionally in 2007 after joining Orisun TV, where he presents the talk show Miliki Express. He produced the movie OSEREGI in 2010 and appeared in Yewande Adekoya’s movie, Kudi Klepto, in 2013.

He has appeared in many English and Yoruba movies. He played Caleb in the 2025 comedy film A Very Dirty Christmas and Fola in the 2025 film The Handshake.

The Nollywood star has also appeared in films like The Good Gift (2025), Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024), Crossroads (2024), Ègún (2023), and Shina’s Dilemma (2023).

Adedimeji has also played roles in other 2025 films including Gingerrr, Iwo, Abánisétè: The Ancestor, Red Circle, and Raji and the Beast.

He played Bayo in the television series She: Must Be Obeyed, which stars Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, and Shaffy Bello. He is currently a brand ambassador for Airtel and Numatville Megacity.

Adedimeji has shared the cover page of ‘This Day’ magazine, alongside other actors. He revealed that he earned ₦4,000 to ₦5,000 for a lead role in 2014, and only started earning ₦100,000 to ₦200,000 in 2015.

In 2016, he won the City People Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actor of the Year (Yoruba). He was nominated for Most Promising Actor of the Year (Yoruba) in 2015.

He won the Best Actor in a Lead Role (Yoruba) category at the 2016 Best of Nollywood Awards. He played Gbotija in the 2023 Yoruba history drama film Jagun Jagun (The Warrior), a role that earned him an award.

Adedimeji won Best Actor in a Film award at the 2022 Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards and Best Actor award at the 2025 Africa Movie Academy Awards for his role in “Lisabi: The Uprising”.

In 2026, he received an Africa Illustration Award for his immense impact and outstanding contributions to the African film and entertainment industry.

Lateef Adedimeji and his wife welcomed a set of triplets — Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe Oyebade, welcomed a set of triplet boys in May 2026.

Lateef Adedimeji married actress Adebimpe Oyebade, also known as Mo Bimpe, in December 2021. After nearly five years of marriage, the couple welcomed a set of triplet boys in 2026.
