Oluwabukola Sekinat Ajoke Wright (born 31 March 1967), popularly known as Bukky Wright, is a Nigerian actress, businesswoman, writer, and producer. She is best known for her roles in Ale Eru Jeje (2017), Ìyálóde (2025), and The Return of Omotara Johnson (2026).

Bukky Wright has starred in movies like Saworoide (1999), Owo Blow (1997), and Wale Adenuga’s hit television series, Super Story. She has also written the drama horror Ale Eru Jeje (2017).

Early Life

Bukky was born on 31 March 1967 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria (then the Western Region). She moved in with her father at age 10.

Her parents were separated. Her father was Christian and had multiple wives, while her mother was Muslim. She developed a love for acting while watching “Tales By Moonlight.”

Education

Bukky holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Lagos. She also studied at the International MBA Institute and the European American University. She earned a master’s degree and became a certified Information Security Analyst.

Career

Bukky began acting in 1996 and has since appeared in many Nollywood films and TV series. She rose to prominence in 1999 after starring in the political drama Saworoide. She appeared in Wale Adenuga’s hit series Super Story titled “Oh Father! Oh, Daughter!”

She took a break from acting to pursue a new path in tech as a Senior IT Auditor in the United States of America. She has also played roles in Eka Resilient (2016), Gidi Blues (2016), Hourglass (2016), and Silence (2016).

Bukky featured in Ale Eru Jeje (2017) as Lola, Price of Deceit (2017) as Mummy G.O., 5 Reasons Why (2018) as Labi, and Poison (2018) as Sola. She appeared in Kadara (2022) as Mama Shade, Mother-In-Law (2023) as Madam Kiola, and Bird in a Cage (2024) as Tolani.

She returned to the film industry by starring in Rixel Studios’ blockbuster Red Circle (2025).

She has also appeared in What Happens Now? (2025), Ìyálóde (2025), Red Circle (2025), Something About the Briggs (2025), and The Return of Omotara Johnson (2026).

Bukky is the executive producer of the films The Return of Omotara Johnson (2026) and Ale Eru Jeje (2017). She owns Wright Media International, a music and multimedia entertainment label. She also runs a clothing line, B Collections, and a beauty spa, B Wright.

In 2014, Wright ran for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Personal life

Bukky was married to businessman Gboyega Amu, the father of her two sons, Olugbenga Amu Wright and Eniola Wilson Amu Wright. After separating from Amu, she married politician Rotimi Makinde.

She later married journalist Femi Davies at the Akoko Registry in Lagos and eventually married her fourth husband, Bolaji Saheed. After separating from Saheed, she married business mogul Adewale Onitiri in 2010.

Bukky is currently single after their union ended in divorce. She has revealed that she would love to get married again.
