Faithia Williams Balogun (born 5 February 1971) is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer and director. She rose to prominence for her role in the film Talo pa Chief.

Balogun has appeared in other projects like Farayola, Iya Alalake, and Jagun Jagun. She was also cast in the 2026 film The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives.

Early life

Faithia Williams was born on 5 February 1971 in Ikeja, Lagos State. She hails from a polygamous family of nine. Her siblings are Ken, Anderson, Charles, Joseline, and Stella.

Education

Faithia attended Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Lagos State. She studied for a diploma at the Kwara State Polytechnic. She enrolled to study Filming at Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2016.

Career

Balogun worked as a general receptionist at Chips Bit & Bit, a computer company on Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.

She later became an actress by chance after her uncle, Alhaji Fatai Teniola, asked her to stand in for an actress. She made her debut in the film Talo pa Chief and has since appeared in many films, including Segilola, Itansan Oorun, Ìrètè: The Reckoning, Apaara, Oga Olopa, and Warlord: Olori Ogun.

Balogun has also starred in, directed, and produced many films. She served as production coordinator for Farayola and Igberaga, and produced the historical epic Efunroye: The Unicorn.

After returning from the UK, she acted in Yinka Quadri’s film Abule Sowo and has also featured in Kunle Afolayan’s movie, Roti.

Balogun was announced as an additional cast member for the film adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s novel, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives.

Balogun has been recognised for her roles and contributions in the industry. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous in 2008 and the Best Actress of the Year at the 2014 Africa Movie Academy Awards.

She won the Best Indigenous Language (Yoruba) award for her film Iya Alalake at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Aside from acting, she has established herself as a businessperson. She owns a beauty and wine shop, House of Faiteer, and a restaurant, Unusual F’s Kitchen, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Personal life

Faithia was married to filmmaker Saheed Balogun. They officially divorced on 17 January 2014, after years of separation. She has three children, Khalid and Aaliyah Balogun with her former husband, Saheed, and an older son, Oluwatosin Akanbi, from a previous relationship.

Her father, Sir Williams Onoughwujovwo Ikperha, passed away in 2024, and her mother, Gloria Williams, passed away in February 2026.
