Damilola Oni (born May 2) is a Nigerian actress, TV presenter, and film producer. She is best known for playing the role of Susan in the Yoruba TV series Borokini.

She portrayed Detective Jessica in the 2022 romance-comedy Romeo and Motade and in the 2024 drama Sisters in Crime. She hosted the magazine breakfast show Aajiirebi, alongside Bamidele Fagboyo.

Early Life

Damilola Oni was born on May 2 in Coker, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos State. She has three brothers and is the eldest of the four children.

Growing up, she fell in love with acting and actively participated in the church’s drama group. She also did Yoruba poetry, Ewi, and Esa at the Federal Government Girls’ College in Oyo.

Education

Damilola attended Surulere Junior Secondary School. She completed JSS 3 among the best students and received an award from the Lagos State Government. She later attended Federal Government Girls College.

She studied linguistics at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. While in school, she acted on stage with the Wole Soyinka Arts Theatre at the Department of Theatre Arts. She also auditioned, rehearsed, and engaged in stage plays.

Damilola completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service in Enugu State.

During her service year, she held a leadership role as the Drama Coordinator and Head of the Drama Team for the Student Evangelical Christian Fellowship (SECF) in Nsukka. She also earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Ibadan.

She holds an M.Sc. in Indigenous Knowledge and Development under Sustainable Development from the University of Ibadan.

Career

Damilola worked with a telecommunications company in Lagos State. She has also worked as a marketer selling CUGs to companies of both small and large enterprises.

She auditioned and became the co-presenter of the Nigerian magazine breakfast show Aajiirebi. She also enrolled at the REG Films and Arts Academy (REFA), Ibadan.

Oni joined Nollywood in 2018 and made her acting debut in the film Lovage alongside Lateef Adedimeji and Jaiye Kuti. She later played Susan in the television series Borokini on Africa Magic Yoruba.

She also portrayed Dumebi in the long-running television show Ajumobi and recorded over 200 episodes for the series. In 2026, she appeared in many films, including Friends and Family, Abeke and Alake, Aisiki, Spicy, and Maryam.

Damilola has added film production to her portfolio. She has produced many movies, including MOPÉLÓLÁ ARÍJÀGBÀ.
